A true photograph does not lie–it only shows you the truth, and it is always a reminder that this is who we are, we do not want to go back to pretending, and hiding no longer works. A true photograph asks us to step up and embody in more fullness who we already are. This is one of the most powerful processes, a testimonial of our consistent choices.
It takes away every bit of reservation, doubt, uncertainty, shyness, arrogance, unworthiness, narcissism to have a picture taken and shared when this body in its physicality is simply a vehicle of expression. We reflect every choice we have made, and we own up to them.
This is the true power of portrait photography.
